The MacBook Pro Core i9 2.3 15-Inch (2019, Touch Bar) is powered by a 14 nm, 9th Generation “Coffee Lake” 2.3 GHz Intel “Core i9” processor (I9-9880H), with eight independent processor “cores” on a single silicon chip, a 16 MB shared level 3 cache, 16 GB of onboard 2400 MHz DDR4 SDRAM — which could be upgraded to 32 GB at the time of purchase, but cannot be upgraded later — and 512 GB of onboard flash storage as well as dual graphics processors — an AMD Radeon Pro 560X with 4 GB of dedicated GDDR5 memory and an integrated Intel UHD Graphics 630 graphics processor that shares memory with the system.

Touch ID

Externally, this laptop has a 720p FaceTime HD webcam built in, an updated “third generation” butterfly mechanism keyboard with a built-in “Touch Bar” touch-sensitive control that can adapt for different applications and supports Touch ID login in place of conventional function keys, and a sizable “Force Touch” trackpad.

True Tone Display

It also boasts a 15.4″ widescreen, 2880×1800 (220 ppi, 500 nits) “Retina” display with True Tone technology and a built-in battery that lasts for an estimated 10 hours, according to Apple.

Colours

This notebook weighs slightly more than 4 pounds (1.83 kg) and is available in either a silver or a darker “Space Grey” coloured aluminium shell (other colours are not available).

Connectivity

There are four “Thunderbolt 3” ports (USB-C connectors), Bluetooth 5.0, 802.11ac Wi-Fi, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack for connectivity.

Comparison

Compared to its predecessor, this model has a faster processor as well as a tweaked butterfly keyboard said to use different materials and be less error prone.
